Marblehead’s Jessica Prouty Band releases new album

July 23, 2011

School’s out and the band is growing wings. Nine new tracks on their third album, “My Way,” sales on iTune, and staying together for five years marks this group of high school friends’ transition from their garage to the world of professional musicians. Prouty is off to the Berklee School of Music, which she says will actually help the band grow. A recent appearance at SchoolJam USA in California taught the band that they could compete on a larger scale. The long line of autograph seekers after their performances didn’t hurt either. The band will be performing around New England this summer and, as reported in the Lynn Item, they will stay together despite the upcoming separations. The last successful local band of note was “Boston,” which came out of Swampscott. With three albums and iTunes already in hand, who knows?
