At 7:08 a.m. the alarm came in and the fire department responded immediately. There was no one home but the basement fire caused a lot of damage and alerted parents to the presence of emergency vehicles in front of the Village School. Quick action by Marblehead Firefighters, “prevented gas lines from melting,” within a stone’s throw of the school.1
