New name writes new history for Historical Commission

March 1, 2012

They thought about it. They researched it. They talked about it. Then they did it all over again. And again. And then, they changed their name. The Historical Commission’s new name? The Town of Marblehead Historical Commission. It all started in Dunkin’ Donuts with Bill Conly’s “informal” poll of Marbleheaders. “Nobody has a clue what we mean when we say ‘Historical Commission,'” he is reported to have said.1 Well, the new name will fix that. For sure.
